Dr. Jen Pierce focuses on a different type of carbon, inorganic carbon. Often overlooked, inorganic carbon can constitute a large part of the carbon storage in soils. Understanding it is important to get an accurate picture of carbon cycling in sagebrush steppe ecosystems.
